Travel is an amazing Chicago Solutions perk we offer our team members. Whether recognizing top producers with a rest and relaxation retreat or providing new people the chance to cross-train at another high-performing office, our business trips are both rewarding and inspiring.
Recently, hand-selected team members traveled to Dallas for a leadership and networking event. While there, our people focused on marketing knowledge by attending keynote speeches held by industry leaders. It was a great chance for us to get a fresh viewpoint on what is possible, and to connect with professionals from across the country.
“Qualifying for a trip like the Dallas conference has so many benefits, but there are subtle reasons we offer travel as well,” explained Matt, Director of Operations for Chicago Solutions. “One of the most important is that it gives us a chance to teach our team members how to set and achieve goals. When we announce a trip and what’s required to be on it, we’re fulfilling all the criteria of how to have a SMART goal.”
SMART is an acronym for Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time-sensitive. These are all the elements of a properly set objective, and also what we consider when announcing an upcoming trip. We talk about what exactly it takes to go, how success is measured, and when milestones have to be hit. We coach people to make sure they have all the support they need and share the benefits of attendance so team members realize just how valuable each of these opportunities can be to their careers.
We rely on travel in so many ways that it’s hard to imagine what we would do without it. To see where we’re sending team members next, check out our Chicago Solutions Newswire feed.
